AHA offers a variety of AED courses. Here are all the AHA AED courses.
The AHA Heartsaver AED course is taught together with AHA Heartsaver CPR, known as the AHA Heartsaver CPR AED course. A video based, AHA instructor led course that teaches adult CPR, child CPR, infant CPR, adult AED use, child AED use, how to relieve choking in adults, how to relieve choking in children, and how to relieve choking in how to relieve choking in infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research proven practice while watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited medical training, no medical training, or those who need a course completion card in AHA Heartsaver CPR and AED use to meet job requirements.
During the course, an AHA instructor conducts video based lessons and works with students to complete their CRP and AED skills practice and testing. Duration will vary.
Upon completion of this course, students receive an AHA Heartsaver CPR AED course completion card that is valid for 2 years.
AHA has introduced the AHA Heartsaver course completion card for Kindergarten through 12th grade school systems. The card signifies that an individual in the Kindergarten through 12th grade school system has successfully completed the objectives and skills evaluations in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA Heartsaver program. If you are a Kindergarten through 12th grade school, ask about this option.
