ACLS Course

AHA Healthcare Professional ACLS course has been updated to reflect new science in the AHA guidelines for CPR and ECC. This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high quality CPR. This advanced course highlights the importance of high performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and ACS.

Course Features

• Class based works well for learners who prefer group interaction and instructor feedback while learning skills
• Course uses learning stations for practice of essential skills simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active participation
• Hands on class format reinforces skills proficiency

Course Content

• Airway management
• BLS skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag mask device, and use of an AED
• Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team
• Management of ACS and stroke
• Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
• Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
• Related pharmacology

Course Format / Time

Class is AHA instructed and video based, with skills conducted throughout. Initial provider course requires approximately 15 hours 20 minutes to complete, including skills practice and skills testing. Update Course requires approximately 8 hours 25 minutes, including skills practice and skills testing. Course time based on small class. Duration will vary.

Course Completion Card or Certificate

AHA Healthcare Professional ACLS provider course completion card that is valid for 2 years.
